Cumin Seeds
Cumin Seeds
Cumin is a herbaceous plant whose seeds, both ground and grain, are used as spice thanks to its characteristic slightly spicy bitter taste and intense odor. As a native of the Mediterranean basin it is used in traditional dishes of the cuisine of southern Europe, North Africa and by extension in the Guatemalan, Paraguayan, Mexican and Asian countries like India, where it is used to produce the curry.
In Spain its use is also very popular, being used for the elaboration of stews and cooked with legumes. In addition, it is also employed as a medicinal plant because it is attributed carminative and sedative properties.
