El azufaifo o j\u00ednjol es un arbusto cuyo fruto se caracteriza por contar con un aspecto de aceituna, inicialmente de color verde claro y que, una vez maduro, adopta una tonalidad marr\u00f3n rojiza<\/p>\n
Aunque en \nalgunas regiones de Espa\u00f1a es empleado para la fabricaci\u00f3n de instrumentos musicales (casta\u00f1uelas, grallas, etc.), en Asia, especialmente en China, su fruto comestible es consumido por sus propiedades digestivas, antiinflamatorias, analg\u00e9sicas, calmantes y sedantes, as\u00ed como por su alto contenido en Vitamina C y az\u00facares saludables.<\/p>\n
Dado que el azufaifo desecado tiene un aspecto y sabor similar al d\u00e1til, es tambi\u00e9n \nconocido como \"d\u00e1til rojo\" o incluso como \"d\u00e1til chino\". Puede ser consumido tanto solo como emple\u00e1ndolo a modo de condimento en platos picantes y dulces.<\/p>\n
